John Wallace: Just a guy and his guitar
John Wallace was born in Tampa, Florida, but has spent his life in Japan and China. John first started playing the guitar when he was about 13, and is largely self-taught. Despite not having formal training, he is widely recognized as being one of the best acoustic guitarists in Shanghai. Though he is still quite young, he has helped form several bands, and is a familiar figure in the Shanghai club scene. He is eclectic in his musical tastes, drawing inspiration from performers and groups as diverse as the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, and Johnny Cash. His own sound tends towards folk and soft rock, with a little country thrown in. While this might not seem all that radical, what is radical is his core belief as an artist: If it doesn't have integrity and come from the heart, it simply isn't worth doing.
John is currently looking for a recording contract, and wants to connect with other artists who share his commitment to words and music. He can be reached on Facebook and by the contact page on this website.
